Product Update · april 2026

We’ve been busy improving your simulation experience — from faster, more reliable performance to smarter AI voices and new security protections.

⚡ Performance & Reliability

Faster, more accurate speech timing

We resolved a mismatch that was causing reported speech response times to differ from what you actually experienced.

Improved stability under load

We’ve addressed scaling issues that could cause slowdowns during high-traffic periods, along with behind-the-scenes improvements to how we monitor and maintain service health.

🌐 AI & Language Improvements

Korean & Japanese honorifics

Patient responses in Korean and Japanese now correctly use the appropriate levels of formality and honorifics, making conversations feel more natural and culturally accurate.

British English AI voices

Patients configured with British English (en-GB) now speak with a matching accent.

Slurred speech patient: George Callahan

A new stroke patient, George Callahan, is now available with slurred speech — helping learners practice assessing and communicating with patients who have speech impairments.

🎯 Simulation & Experience Enhancements

Click-to-check vitals

After each patient state change, vital signs are now hidden by default — learners must actively click to check them. Each check is automatically logged, reinforcing good assessment habits. This feature can be enabled or disabled under Resource Set Settings → Available Tools.

Silent microphone toggle

You can now press and hold the microphone button to silently start or stop listening — helpful for pausing mid-session without disrupting the flow of a simulation.

🔒 Security

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Your account is now better protected with two-factor authentication. When enabled, you’ll verify your identity with a second step at login — an extra layer of security for your account and your learners’ data.

👤 Avatars

Lara Taylor gets a new look

First trimester avatar — also known as Lara Taylor — has received a visual refresh with an updated, more polished appearance.
